Meme adalah sebuah gambar yang diberikan tulisan pendukung dan memiliki arti. Membuat meme itu mudah, hanya menempel tulisan pada gambar, bagian sulitnya adalah kreativitas dalam pemilihan diksi dan keselarasan dengan gambar.
Dalam perkembangannya, meme begitu diminati netizen. Hal ini dimanfaatkan oleh beberapa penyelenggara acara untuk membuat publikasi berupa meme, disamping poster maupun artikel. Salah satunya adalah Diskominfo (Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika) Jabar dalam penyelenggaraan PON Jawa Barat beberapa bulan yang lalu.
Diskominfo Jabar mengajak masyarakat Jawa Barat untuk ikut meramaikan acara PON dengan mengadakan lomba membuat meme bertema PON Jabar. Meme yang terpilih akan digunakan untuk publikasi acara.
Mengetahui ada lomba seperti itu, Erpin Al Ghifari mahasiswa asal Majalengka yang hobby foto, iseng untuk mengikuti lomba.
“Kebetulan punya foto di salah satu venue saya iseng aja. Ibarat iseng-iseng deketin cewek cantik aja saya mah. Dapet juara syukur, kalau belum dapet yaa mungkin belum saatnya dan saya harus sadar diri. Kan kreator pembuat meme di Jawa Barat banyak dan hebat.” Ujar Erpin, sekalian curhat dia teh kayaknya mah.
Namun siapa sangka, namanya muncul menjadi juara kedua! Bermodalkan gambar salah satu venue PON Jabar cabor lari, ditambah dengan kata-kata kreatif terbentuklah sebuah meme.
Pada tanggal 7 Desember, Erpin bersama para juara diundang oleh Diskominfo Jabar untuk datang ke hotel Horison Bandung dalam acara Diskominfo awards. Dalam acara tersebut, Erpin diberi penghargaan berupa piala oleh Kepala Diskominfo Jabar secara langsung di atas panggung, mantap!
Pemuda yang saat ini tengah menempuh semester akhir di Universitas Telkom Bandung ini merasa bangga karena bisa bersaing dengan creator meme lain yang ada di Jawa Barat.
“Buat temen-temen Majalengka, jangan ragu atau takut untuk berkarya. Jangan merasa minder karena berasal dari Majalengka. Pede wae dulu, seperti yang saya bilang sebelumnya, ibarat ngedeketin cewek cantik kadang bukan wajah ganteng yang diliat, tapi usahanya.” Setuju saya nih sama Erpin!
