Berawal dari banyak sekali baliho dan spanduk bupati kita, H. Sutrisno SE M.Si, yang dipasang di jalanan Majalengka, dan berisi tulisan “Mutiara dari Timur untuk Membangun Jawa Barat,” cepat sekali viral di kalangan masyarakat kota angin. Melahirkan persepsi kalau bupati yang sudah memimpin Majalengka selama dua periode ini, akan ikut meramaikan bursa bakal calon gubernur Jawa Barat.
Mendengar kabar ini, warga Majalengka terkejut. Pasalnya, beberapa waktu lalu Sutrisno diisukan akan pensiun dari dunia politik, mungkin dugaan itu lahir mengingat usianya yang sudah senja (68 tahun). “Orang politik itu tidak boleh berhenti berjuang, kecuali dipanggil oleh Allah (meninggal dunia),” tegasnya, pada Detikco.
Selain faktor usia, tagline yang dipilih di baliho “Mutiara dari Timur” juga menyita perhatian. Pasalnya, banyak dari kita yang gagal paham, sebab mengira timur di sini adalah Indonesia timur, mungkin yang dimaksud adalah Majalengka secara geografis berada di timur Jawa Barat. Lalu pemilihan kata “Mutiara,” karena benda berharga tersebut identik dengan wilayah yang memiliki laut, sedangkan kota kita tidak memiliki laut.
Dugaan majunya bupati yang sudah memimpin Majalengka selama dua periode ini menguat, ketika baligo-baligonya juga bisa kita dapati di Sumedang, atau di sepanjang perjalan menuju Pangandaran. Sutrisno juga merasa optimis, sebab dirinya sudah dikenal. Paling tidak di 13 Kabupaten di Jawa Barat. “Sekarang saya sedang sedang berjuang agar lolos (sebagai calon). Partai saya adalah pemenang, dan pemilik pemerintahan, masa iya (saya) dirangkul partai lain? Mau jabar 1, atau 2, saya siap.” tuturnya pada Jawa Pos.
Kepada Jawa Pos juga, Sutrisno memang sudah mengonfirmasi akan ikut dalam pertarungan kursi nomor satu di Jawa Barat tersebut, “Spirit saya untuk maju ke Jawa Barat, sebab tak meratanya pembangunan di wilayah timur. Padahal Jabar sebagai penyangga ibu kota, sudah seharusnya maju dengan pemerataan pembangunan,” katanya, dan keresahan itu pula yang membuat ia siap maju ke Pilgub. Pernyataan ini jelas sudah menjawab pertanyaan masyarakat Majalengka.
Saya bukan penggemar berat Sutrisno, bukan pula yang merasa sangat puas atas kepemimpinannya di Majalengka. Namun benarkah “Mutiara dari Timur” adalah kita? Apa benar ia akan memperjuangkan kepentingan kita sebagai masyarakat yang hidup di timur Jawa Barat? Bagaimana menurutmu?
